The first video below shows an example of how to write an equation of a function when given the rate of change and initial value (y-intercept).

Once you have written the equation, it is easy to then construct the graph and table. The next video shows how to construct the table and graph when you have an exponential equation.

In all of the examples that we have looked at so far, the rate of change is given so that we know how many times larger or smaller our outputs are getting every time the inputs are increasing by 1.

In the real world, however, sometimes things multiply by a rate every 10 years or every 3 weeks. Watch the video below to see how to represent these exponential functions.
