Assessments
Wear the Uniform. All cadets will be issued a complete JROTC Army Service Uniform (ASU) and are required to wear it to class each Wednesday or as scheduled. All cadets are inspected/graded on uniform days. Proper wear of the cadet uniform builds-discipline, pride in themselves, pride within the Warrior Battalion and accounts for 30% of their academic grade. (Major Assessment)
Homework and Quizzes. Cadets must come to class prepared for the day's lesson (complete assigned reading/homework). Quizzes will assess reading and previous lesson objective comprehension. Homework assignments will assess student knowledge gained during instruction/discussion during the class period. Combined, both will account for 20% of their academic grade (minor assessment)
Class Participation: All cadets must actively participate in classroom discussion and drill, demonstrate proper behavior and respect, and wear the proper clothing and give a high level of effort during physical fitness training. Cadet Participatin accounts for 20% of their academic grade and will be assessed twice each quarter. (Minor Assessment)
Projects and Exams. Cadets will be assigned projects to apply lessons from readings as well as receive regularly scheduled exams to assess learning of key lesson objectives for ech block of instruction. Projects and Exams will account for 30% of their academic grade. (Major Assessment). There will be an end of semester exam which account for 20% of the semester grade.
Attendance Policy
Student Attendance laws require the following days present to receive credit provided the student receives a passing grade in the couse: In a 90 Day course (Semester) a student must attend 84 days.
Students missing an assignment in class will have five school days from the date of return to complete the assignment adn should make arrangements with the teacher to complete missed assignements. This includes absences incurred due to participation in a school sponsored activity.
Grading Scale: Per district policy, the grading scale will be
A 90-100
B 80-89
C 70-79
D 60-69
F 0-59
Students will receive 1 Credit (required PE Credit) for successful completion of this course.
Other than Battalion T-Shirt (see fees), all materials and resources are provided by the JROTC Department. Cadets are required to pay for any lost or damaged materials.
