Makeup Work:

The following policy applies to students needing to make up work:

  • Students who are absent one day or any portion of a school day (any reason) should be prepared to complete any previously assigned work on the day they return to class.
  • Students participating in school activities (field trips, academic or athletic competitions) are responsible for any work missed while they are away.
  • Students who have longer term absences (more than one day) will be allowed the same number of days to complete any make-up assignments (i.e. 3 class periods absent = 3 class periods to make the work up). For absences longer than five (5) days, the teacher and student should create a schedule for completing the work missed.
  • It is always the student’s responsibility to complete work that has been missed. No work can be made up after the nine-week period has ended without the approval of the teacher and the principal.
  • Students who are absent for an extended period may request assistance from the guidance office to obtain class assignments.
