Automotive Technology 2 will teach students the NATEF Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) areas of Basic Engine Operation, Engine Performance, and Engine Repair. Students will learn the operation of the taught automotive systems as well as how to test and repair the systems. Soft-skills that are required to make students employable are stressed throughout the course. Tasks from level 1 are further put into practice through real-world repairs.

- Modern Automotive Technology-provided by SDOC (8th edition textbook)
- 3-Ring Notebook-provided
- Safety Glasses (1st pair is provided, additional glasses are $3 each)
- Black Pen/Pencil
- Closed-toed shoes/boots (slip resistance bottoms are recommended)
- Safety-compliant clothing (not baggy and no clothing with holes)
- Todaysclass (online curriculum provided by the SC Dept of Ed)
- $30 fee required for participation in class
Optional Materials and Resources:
- Students at this level are strongly encouraged to buy and build a set of tools. Students are offered 50% discounts on many brands of tools.
