Course Number: 302401CW
English 1 will provide a foundational study of literary genres and informative/explanatory texts within themed units. Student writing will focus on argumentative, informational, and explanatory formats. Students will use language to communicate effectively in a wide variety of formats, deliver well-organized formal presentations, and demonstrate a command of Standard American English. All students will take the South Carolina End-of-Course Examination, which determines 20% of their final year-long grade.
